A family plumbing business where the owner picks up
Encano Plumbing and Drain Ltd is run by Ed Ferreira and his family out of Richmond, BC. We fix heating and plumbing for homes, strata buildings and businesses across Metro Vancouver.
Why customers ask for Ed by name
Read our Google reviews and the same name keeps coming up. Customers write that Ed came in early, explained the work before starting, told them the cost ahead of time and only recommended what was needed. That is not a script. It is how a family business has to work when its name is on every job.
We are based in Richmond and cover the whole island plus Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Delta, Surrey and White Rock. In the cold months the calls turn to heating: hydronic boilers in townhouses, gas furnaces in detached homes. The rest of the year it is drains, hot water tanks, hidden leaks and burst pipes.
Every job starts the same way. A free estimate, one flat price in writing, then the work, a proper clean-up and a 1-year workmanship warranty. Over 5,000 jobs in, that routine has not changed.
We speak English, Portuguese and Spanish, and we are licensed and insured for the plumbing work we do.
Three words we hold ourselves to
- Reliable
- We show up when we say we will, and if something changes, you hear it from us first, not after you have waited all morning.
- Fast
- Phones and texts are answered 24/7. Same-day visits are available, and urgent no-heat and water calls go to the front of the line.
- Honest
- One flat price before we start. We recommend only what the job needs, and we tell you when a repair is the better deal than a replacement.

We had a kitchen sink emergency Sunday night and Eddy saved the day. Showed up Monday morning as promised, stayed patient through a tricky clog, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. Price was more than fair. Highly recommend Eddy if you need a plumber you can trust. Thank you very much Eddy!

Very responsive, on-time and excellent service. Ed is very professional and knowledgeable. He helped us with installation of new hot water tank, garburator, dishwasher, washers/dryers, toilets and removal of the old ones. He also handled any other plumbing concerns we've got. He can do them all. Would highly recommend!
